Wellbeing Services Rebrand

Rebrand project for the Wellbeing and Disability services at the UoH. ↓

The Brief:

The Wellbeing and Disability Services run a series of workshops and groups throughout the year covering a range of topics, from mindfulness to autism. Our current artwork is outdated and mis-matched. We’d like a suite of posters/social media assets for each of the groups, including some blank templates for future groups (if possible) to enable us to maximise promotion and student engagement with these sessions.

Further Points:

  • The artwork must include the name of the group, the time/date/location, if applicable, and the method of booking/joining.

  • It should also include the University of Huddersfield logo.

  • Each workshop/group must have it’s own identity

  • Accessibility is key – text should be legible (minimum size 12)

  • Colours should be suitable (nothing too contrasting, and text should be easily read on colour backgrounds) and QR codes would be useful on all print materials.

  • The service has no established colour identity, though we do use the University navy blue (R: 0, G: 114, B: 53) and white for our formal range of print materials.

Insight:

The client has several technical requirements that must be met for the design outcome as well as being concerned that the current artwork is outdated. To make sure that the produced posters will appeal to the target audience, my peer and I conducted a survey asking students at the University of Huddersfield what they would like to see from these posters and what visuals they associated with each of the workshops.

Idea:

A set of 7 posters for each of the workshops, using a monochromatic colour scheme, giving each workshop their own colour to be associated with. The posters use friendly language and illustrations where the audience can imagine themselves in a specific scenario.

Reach:

These posters would be displayed around the University, replacing the previous Wellbeing and Disability Services posters. As well as this, we provided the client with template versions of the posters as requested so that any information on there could be changed or updated as needed. We also provided GIFS, landscape versions of the posters, potential Social Media posts and potential merchandise ideas. Brand Guidelines for this project can be viewed here.

Redesigned Posters:

Promotional Content:

Twitter Post promoting 'Improve Inner Calm' workshop.

Coffee Card for 'Autism @ Hud Uni' workshop.

Badge for 'PGR Support Group' workshop.

Fancy a chat?

With both the Social Media posts and merchandise, we wanted to create a sense of ‘community’ within the students who attend these workshops. This would allow students to find others who attend the same workshops as them as each workshop has its own distinct colour and illustrations associated with them.
